Under the Lantern
This individual project explores environment-driven storytelling through a historically grounded game set in 1930s war-torn China. The experience communicates the social impact of war through spatial design, environmental changes, and player interaction, using the environment itself as the primary narrative device rather than relying on dialogue or cutscenes.
I developed early visual concepts and mood exploration, then translated them into a structured 3D environment pipeline in Maya. The scene was designed in both pre-war and post-war states, with deliberate variations in architecture, props, lighting intent, and spatial composition to support narrative progression and emotional contrast. This project emphasizes environment readability, thematic consistency, and production-aware world-building, demonstrating my ability to bridge concept development and 3D environment creation with a technical, implementation-ready mindset.
